HIGHCLERE SELECTION PROCESS
A large portion of the success of Highclere comes down to our selection process, which has helped steer Highclere into its position as a world leader in thoroughbred syndication. The selection process starts with John Warren and Harry, who together have purchased eight individual champions, including world champion Harbinger, and over the 25 years since Highclere's inception our syndicates have produced 28% stakes performed horses to syndicates in Europe.
OUR FOCUS
Highclere Australia focuses on two aspects of bloodstock opportunities for our share owners; proven horses and yearlings.
Highclere's record with proven horses from the UK speaks for itself. With Opinion winning the Group 1 Metropolitan and Group 2 winner (Group 1 placed) Libran headlining our select approach to investing in these types of horses which has paid dividends to our owners. After a brilliant 2016 Sydney Autumn Carnival Libran was crowned the New South Wales Champion Stayer title for the 2015/16 season. Libran and Opinion both placed second in the very competitive Group 1 Sydney Cup with a cumulative total prize money of over AUD$2 million.
Libran then when on to run in the 2017 Emirates Melbourne Cup, finishing a very respectable eighth.
From 2015 we began selecting yearlings from the premier Australian yearling sales, including the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale and the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, to provide our share owners the opportunity to purchase shares in locally produced horses to race in Australia.
