Olympic Theatre puts on a show at Newcastle
Before coming to Australia, Olympic Theatre had notched up a nice record overseas, having won several races and been placed on many other occasions. He looked a very nice stayer in the making.
He made his way to Australia to be trained by Richard and Michael Freedman. The 4YO son of Mayson broke through for his first Australian victory at Newcastle on 17th March 2022. This was only his 4th run in Australia, after a few conditioning runs and a good 3rd at the start prior over 1600m, he looked like a horse wanting more distance (which is what he showed overseas), so stepping up to the 1880m was perfect. He was given a terrific ride by Keagan Latham who said after the race that he has a nice future ahead of him. Co-Trainer Richard Freedman agreed and thought the fact he put himself in a winning position and then went on with the job was very creditable and he can't wait to see him out over even further.
He is certainly a horse to follow!
