REDSTONE WELL (IRE)

A 4YO Chestnut Gelding by Cotai Glory. Redstone Well was imported from Ireland after 3 impressive wins caught the eye of Highclere Racing. He has a similar physical structure to 2022 Caulfield Cup winner Durston and will be trained by Annabel Neasham who has had great success for Highclere, including English import, Naval College.

Naval College is a 5yo Bay Gelding from United Kingdom. Previously trained by Sir Michael Stoute and now with the Annabel Neasham stable at Warwick Farm. He is sired by the stallion Dartmouth out of the dam Sequence.

Redstone Well is a son of Cotai Glory who tends to get sprinters but he stays a mile well and on his last start won going away over 1m 1f (1,800 metres). He is physically very similar to our own Durston who won the Caulfield Cup (over $3,500,000 earnings to date!) in that he is a neat horse, just under 16h in height. Another that we raced here and then sold to Australia he reminds me of is Nugget who has already amassed $900,000 in prizemoney in his first preparation out there! We have learned over the years that you need a horse with enough tactical speed to be really effective in Australia and not just a plodding stayer. There are so many more opportunities for horses down under that can race over a mile (1,600 metres). Redstone Well is sure to stay at least a mile and a quarter (2,000 metres) and probably further but he has easily enough speed to be running in very valuable races over a mile to start with.

He will be trained by Annabel Neasham.
