HIGHCLERE RACING'S WEEKLY NEWS
9/8/22
Bartholomeu Dias ran at Randwick on Saturday, although he got the track conditions to suit the race didn’t pan out exactly how we would’ve liked and in a race with some very talented horses he went into the straight giving them a lot of ground and was unable to make it up. He certainly lost no admirers and we look forward to his next start, which could see him head up to Queensland to Eagle Farm, the same venue he won well at in June.
While Highland Cathedral headed out for a rest this week saw Hint of Stars come back into work. He is in terrific order and we look forward to watching him progress through the stages.
Our other import Olympic Theatre is coming along well, he will resume later this month. He looks a beautiful staying type so we can’t wait to see him out over the longer distances as he progresses through the racing preparation. Great House is only a couple of weeks behind Olympic Theatre in their campaigns with his return to racing scheduled for early next month. Both horses along with Durston are hoping to make it into the cups so it is certainly an exciting time for Highclere Racing Australia. Great House was terrific winning the Hotham Handicap on Derby Day last year winning his way into the great race on the Tuesday. It was such a thrill to have a Melbourne Cup runner and hopefully, we are lucky enough to experience it again this year.
With no runners this weekend it will be a quieter week on the race track but there is certainly a lot happening off the track so make sure you keep an eye on our socials to keep up to date with all the news from Highclere Racing Australia.
