HIGHCLERE RACING'S WEEKLY NEWS
14/6/2022
This week Highclere Racing celebrated its 30th Birthday! Unfortunately, it wasn’t the fairytale we would’ve liked but Great House still ran well. In true Great House style, he had no luck with the barrier drawing the outside and champion jockey James McDonald wasn’t left with a lot of choices. Great House settled at the rear of the field and despite running home nicely, he could only pick up a midfield position in the Q22. After such a terrific performance the start prior expectations we high but barriers are key and without the right run in transit, it made it impossible for him to win.
He is once again on a Melbourne Cup path so a few weeks between runs for a little freshen will do him the world of good and he is in terrific hands with Chris Waller winning last year’s Melbourne Cup with Verry Elleegant.
Onwards and upwards for Highclere Racing Australia and this week we look forward to last start winner, Bartholomeu Dias lining up in the Ipswich Cup. It’s a different result with the barriers this week with him drawing barrier 3, which should enable him to get a good run. Reports from the stable say he has pulled up well so fingers crossed for a good effort again on Saturday.
As mentioned last week we have a few of our spellers returning to training and we are very keen to see the unraced, Highland Cathedral, Armageddon and Korolev hit the track later this year and the return of import Olympic Theatre.
There is a lot to look forward to and you can be a part of it, email info@highclereracing.com.au for more information on how you can race with Highclere Australia.
