HIGHCLERE WEEKLY NEWS
17/5/2022
We thought the bad weather may have been behind us but unfortunately, it continues to interrupt preparations, but hopefully not for long. The Highland Reel filly was due to have a jumpout last week but that was postponed so we eagerly await this week to see the filly in action, although being her first one the expectations won’t be high as she has plenty of fitness to gain. It is still exciting to have her close to hitting the tracks. Anyone wanting to get into a beautiful filly and not have to wait to attend the races, this girl is for you. She has matured nicely and is a big, strong filly. Shares are filling quickly so now is the time to act!
This week we also look forward to the return of Bartholomeu Dias, although once again tracks will need to dry out slightly or we may have to look for alternative plans. Great House heads up to not so sunny Queensland and takes on Zaaki in the Doomben Cup, only a small field although the favourite will be very hard to beat, it looks like a nice race for Great House, if he can get the conditions to suit. Otherwise, he may have to wait a week and hopefully, the weather improves. We will certainly be out doing a sundance!
Durston is building his fitness and pleasing the Waller stable, at this stage, the aim is to race towards the end of July. Armageddon, Korolev, Olympic Theatre and Hint of Stars are all still spelling but doing well.
We must also make mention that Pariah, the sire of Korolev, had a Group 2 winner at Eagle Farm on the weekend. They seem to improve as late 2 year olds so the time Korolev is having out at the moment will certainly set him up well as it suggests they will be better 3 Year Olds, which is what Korolev has shown us.
There is a lot to look forward to this weekend and we will be back next week to report on it all, but in the meantime make sure you like and follow us on our socials to stay up to date!
